Code of Conduct

Great Dane Lovers is all about loving life with our Great Danes. Based in Melbourne, we are not just a breed club as we support all disciplines of the Great Dane and encourage good sportsmanship with social activities with and without the Danes!

The purpose of this document is to set out the standards of behavior expected of all Members. In agreeing to be part of the Club, each member must also agree to adhere to this code at all times.

Great Dane Lovers is a family club and does not tolerate offensive or obscene language or actions at any of our events. Members using this type of language at an event will be given one warning by a club representative. If the behaviour continues the member in question will be required to leave the event.

Great Dane Lovers Inc has a zero tolerance policy for inappropriate behaviour that may cause discomfort to others or bring the club into disrepute.

Inappropriate behaviour may include but is not limited to:

• Racism
• Sexual Harassment
• Abuse: Verbal or Physical
• Intolerance of a person's religion, gender identity or sexual orientation
• Behaving in a way that disturbs the enjoyment of the event/discussion for other people
• Any other actions deemed to be intentionally hurtful, harmful, threatening or inappropriate
• Harming your own or other peoples animals

If you do experience or witness any behaviour you deem unacceptable at an event the following steps are to be followed:

• Advise a Club representative immediately at the event
• Do not approach another member causing unease to others
• Provide a written explanation of the incident to the committee within 7 days
• A formal response will be provided (privacy and confidentiality of discussions with both parties will be upheld)

If a member is to be found to be in breach of the code of conduct after an investigation the committee will:

• Issue a written warning to the member outlining the breach of conduct and the change in behaviour that is expected
• If a second incident occurs, the committee will discuss appropriate action

We have a number of committee members that are available for you to discuss any concerns or suggestions you may have. Please feel free to talk to your committee to continue to make this great club as fun as possible for everyone.
